We get that. It can be hard to know which service will work for your family, so let us help you figure it out. Schedule a free 20 minute consultation now and we'll help you choose!
We have a variety of different services you can choose from, according to what you think will work best for your family. Our services can either be purchased in a package, like our Fourth Trimester package or you can buy them individually, such as a one time Sleep Coaching Session.
Once you choose which services or package works best for your family, you purchase from our website, look for an email from us about scheduling, and then we get started. It's that simple! We recognize that each family's needs are different so all services and packages can be tailored to meet your specific needs. There is no "one size fits all' when it comes to babies!
Once you have selected the services or package that works for you we will set up a time for an initial meeting, either face to face or via Zoom. Prior to that first meeting you will receive a questionnaire that will give us more information about your family so we can hit the ground running. We will discuss your questionnaire answers as well as the timeline for the services you purchased. Some services are one-and-done while others last for weeks or months. You select your timeline and the appointment times that work best for your family.
To keep our families as healthy as possible during Covid-19 we currently offer all of our services via Zoom. If you are within 75 miles of Lexington, KY and would prefer we can come to your home. We will wear PPE and freshly bleached scrubs to keep things as sanitary as possible.
Though breastfeeding is natural, it is not an innate skill. Both mother and newborn need practice (and maybe some guidance) to master breastfeeding. As a Certified Lactation Counselor and Occupational Therapist Whitlie will assess and evaluate from a wholistic, neurodevelopmental frame of reference. This means considering all aspects of child and mother, including birth history, potential Central Nervous System dysfunctions, concerns for tethered oral tissue, and other concerns, are taken into account when creating your plan of care.
Sleep can be one of the most difficult and frustrating parts of raising a child. Those nights where your child refuses to sleep feel like they last forever and can take a toll on your entire household. Our sleep coach will look at your family's needs and create an individualized plan to help everyone get more rest. We use gentle methods of encouraging sleep that give you and your child a positive experience and teach your child how to sleep independently.
Now that we're spending more time at home it might be hard to determine how your little one is developing relative to milestones. Or maybe you've noticed some quirks in your baby's behavior and want to get another perspective. We offer Developmental Assessments that cover every single aspect of your child and can help you pinpoint the areas that may need some attention. Our assessments are done in two parts, with our OT Whitlie focusing on the neuro-developmental aspect and our Developmental Specialist Anna focusing on all other areas of development. Our two-part approach provides you with a very thorough picture of your baby's strengths and areas that need some additional support.
This multi-disciplinary screening not only checks in on how baby is doing but also looks at how the family is functioning and whether you’d benefit from additional parent support or education. This assessment will produce a written record you may choose to share with your child's pediatrician or other developmental professionals.
*This service must be done in person which means you will need to be within 75 miles of Lexington, KY.
This option is for parents who have specific child-related difficulties and need guidance as they navigate through it. It could be something specific, like working through the daily challenges of how to parent a newborn as a wheelchair user, or it could be more open ended, like "my baby cries all the time and I'm at my wits end, and just don't know what to do." We also offer guidance as you navigate difficult moments of transition with a child who has additional support needs, such as supporting you while you work with a school district to draft an IEP for a child who is entering school or creating a plan to help with problematic behavior in the home. Let Your Village help you problem solve, come up with workable solutions, and provide the support you need.
Sometimes you need a quick answer to a question and don't have time to sit down and schedule a call. When you need a fast answer or immediate advice our Urgent Question Hotline is here for you! We've all been there and we're here for you. Call, text, or Zoom in to get answers to whatever is on your mind.
“I just have to ask one thing really quickly…”
"Is this normal?"
"Why is she doing this?"
"There are a million options here. How do I know which is the right one?"
After Hours Support
It's late at night and your baby has terrible gas and is refusing to eat and the doctor said she has a dairy allergy and you just don't know what to do...
Babies don't follow 9-5 hours and neither do we. We're here for you whenever you need us. 11pm, 6am, or anywhere in between.
You've made a registry, but how many swaddle blankets do you really need? And what non-newborn items should you ask for?

"After no success from a tongue and lip tie revision, our 3rd daughter was almost marked as failure to thrive and I was trying to exclusively pump for her, knowing that she couldn’t even suck from a bottle. Seeing Whitlie was our next step and to say it was like a miracle is an understatement! In the midst of a pandemic, Whitlie made sure our needs were not only met but surpassed. Her attentiveness and passion for her job is unmatched. I felt like our daughter and our situation really mattered to her. This tiny little baby began to gain strength and went from barely transferring any milk by bottle or breastfeeding to fully breastfeeding in a matter of weeks. I truly feel like our baby wouldn’t be where she is now without Whitlie’s comprehensive plan. I can not sing Whitlie’s praises enough and highly recommend her to any mom that may need a lactation consultant and/or occupational therapist."
